Of course if you don't want to change any code you can just put a trap
into the run script. Something like:

exec <seed
trap "" SIGPIPE
exec ...

should do the trick for now.


As an aside Tristan, thanks for posting a clear report and providing
unadulterated logs. I wouldn't have bothered looking if the report or
logs had been obfuscated.
